Things are proving to be much more interesting this year, with increased parity the order of the day — even Nick O’Teen’s in on the act. Jobless Mike Abbott still garners the smart money for the season-long race that is the Mif Albright Skins Series, but Soft Seven’s strategy to take advantage of JMA’s wounded wing-induced absence to rack up skins is proving wise. Unfortunatley, we are at the time of year where the Mif Skin Series slows a touch; mid-week outings are hampered by early sunsets, and early-morning outings see frost delays of at least an hour…
At any rate, it looks to be a good off-season and the foursome should make a strong showing in early Spring…

Oh, one more thing; it’s gotta be embarrassing, nay, humiliating, for SS. We’ve been hitting the Mif at least twice a week, if not more. Clearly LP’s intimdation factor played a large role…

Tis sad but true that Jobless Mike Abbott is out of the running for the $ next week. Keep icing the limp wristket my friend! Maybe you should cady next weeks event to keep in tune?
With the current triple play of storms the Miff will be playing a bit sloggy. This will favor Islander crew as Socal LP is not accustomed to such harsh conditions.
With the Miff being recommended for relegation status by the “consultants” we must rally the crew to the next Alameda city council meeting a file our official protest to prevent this travesty.
LP get ready as the in justice which occured last time will not be repeated!

Creature from the black lagoon …lurk from underneath the sog laiden Island Mif drencher. First skins match of 2008 may be postponed due to the mega droplets from above. The down-pour’n cant stop mon!

RECAP 2008 MIF SKINS SERIES KICK OFF!-
Ahhh yes… 2008 started off with a whimper of excuses not to play the legendary MIF E-9 dues to seriously hazardous weather conditions. I must give LP huge props for serious sales skills in closing the deal. simply relentless hounding and prodding by LP.
However in the end it paid off big for SS as the game was on! Hole #1 (aka “Vanishing Waters” ) was led with a binger by SS to the green and a serious chunker off to the right by LP. With the clouds looming and jeers from the MIF HQ — “NOT QUITE!” — the long awaited hole #2 (aka “Baffler’s Redoubt”) proved to demonstrate it was a day for SS to rain, er, reign supreme… a soft 9 iron on the long 60-yard hole positioned SS to score his Bird for the day and claim a quick 2 skins… Thank You very much.. muy delicioso!
This was followed up with a soft five iron on #3 (aka “Broken Leg”) which landed 15 feet from the hole for a solid Greeny while LP was battling the trees and home dwellings on the left side. I’ll take those three skins.
This got LP fired up and the mystical, magical #4 (aka “Optical Illusion” hole) proved to be LP’s revenge… A solid stoke off the mat put LP in 2-putt skin-win styli while SS suffered from irrational exuberance and shanktified the ruff on the left and could not recover. Skin for the big man…
Holes # 5, 6 and 7 proved to be a joke as neither playa could execute upon the safvory skins building up.
At hole #8 (aka “Nemesis of Tosis”), LP made a fateful miscalculation. Not realizing it was not the 9th hole, he called out winner take all on pure strokes… SS seized upon this flaw in LP strategy and took all 4 skins with a epic double bogey… CHICHARONES CABRON!
Hole #9 (aka “Rerun”) again proved to be a lesson in focus for SS. With the clouds becoming ever more dark and a steady drizzle pounding the celebratory feelings which engrossed SS, LP stepped up and nailed #9 with a solid tee shot into the wind and classic 2-putt for Vicotry. SS overshot and struggled to chip from the tuffy ruff…
SS is pleased to start 08 with a healthy pile of savory skins under his belt… Bank em baby! SS is mentally preparing for the 17th to continue the mojo … bring it!
